Inverkeithing Stone and Slate Survey
Published 31st March 2021
On Friday 26th March, FHBT were delighted to co-host an excellent half day seminar on the Inverkeithing Stone and Slate Survey, commissioned from the Scottish Lime Centre Trust, as part of the Heritage Regeneration Project. The seminar was a sell-out, with over 90 registrations, and a waiting list, so will be programmed again.
The speakers, from the Scottish Lime Centre Trust, and Marcus Paine of Hutton Stone, were excellent, and really shared their clear passion and expertise on stone, how it behaves in buildings, the best way to care for it, and how best to reverse the worst ravages of previous inappropriate treatments, such as painting with modern, film-forming paints.
The event attracted an international as well as local audience, with many comments such as “Many thanks for an excellent and informative morning of talks. Excellent work from both FHBT and SLCT!” “Great presentations” “Very informative” “fascinating seminar”
If you would like to attend the event when it is reprogrammed, please email , your name will be put on a waiting list and you’ll be kept in touch. Alternatively, the whole event can be viewed on You Tube below
The excellent, detailed report and appendices may be downloaded from the FHBT website, under projects, Inverkeithing, downloads.
