This holiday let in Fife is an ideal place to relax and unwind in Gothic splendour. Built in Tudor Gothic style, this impressive castellated stone structure enjoys glimpses out across the Firth of Forth. The rooms are furnished in keeping with the history of the building, while providing all the modern amenities you would expect. There’s a magnificent living/dining area on the 1st floor with floor-to-ceiling windows and 2 stone fireplaces, and large wooden dining table. Off this huge room is a well-equipped kitchen. Fife Historic Buildings Trust completed the restoration of the castellated and B-listed Kinghorn Town Hall in 2009. This magnificent building dominates the approach into the coastal town of Kinghorn and has served many purposes throughout its life thus far including court/jail and has masonic links.

The local town of Kinghorn has all the amenities that you would require. There is a local Co-operative which is a small supermarket, as well as a butcher, bakers, café, pubs, post office, hair & beauty salon, barbers,  dress shop, fish & chip shop, Chinese and gift shop. Across the road to the town hall is The Ship Restaurant, the restaurant provides quality food and service and is recommended by all who visit, reservations is a must as it is often fully booked in advance. Open Wednesday- Sunday  for dinners – 01592 890655. There are some fantastic heritage trails around the town and an interactive app that has been created by Kinghorn Historical Society

Locally there is the town of Burntisland, with further amenities available including a Fruit & Veg shop, Seafood Shop, Gelato Parlour, beauty therapist, hair dressers and swimming pool. Kirkcaldy is the largest town close by, where there are several large food supermarkets, clothing shops, restaurants and more.

The train station operates the Fife Circle, with some trains going to Dundee and Aberdeen. There is a bus stop by the holiday home in which the no7 Leven-Dunfermline Route, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline are the main bus stations serving routes across the country and beyond.

Kinghorn is on the Fife Coastal path, which provides beautiful walks and scenery across the local towns of Fife. Nearby is Kinghorn Loch, a beautiful site home of the Ecology Centre, and Barn at the Loch, an organic coffee shop and lovely place for lunch. Fife is a wonderful county with lots of history, culture, award winning eateries, nature and many locally crafted shops. For more information visit http://www.welcometofife.com/

We just can recommend the apartment. The rooms look exactly as shown in the pictures. Lots of space in the living room. We felt at home immediately. Thanks again for the hospitality! – guest August 2017;

Our family of five stayed here for a week in June, had a terrific time in Kinghorn, and enjoyed the use of the Town Hall in every way. Large, flexible, and spacious can be hard to find in the UK, but this rental is all three. Everything works, multiple bathrooms, laundry facilities, and even a walled garden for when the sun pops out. The hostess, Beth, was helpful as well. Thanks, we will be back! – guest June 2017;

The moment you get to this amazing village the charm is obvious. The location is out of a storybook and you feel like royalty and the people of the town (Kinghorn) are friendly and gracious. Tho it’s not a real castle it has the look and feel of one and you feel transported back to another time. Our host was wonderful and the whole experience was amazing. I would go back in a heartbeat. – Guest May 2017;

Had a wonderful family reunion in very special surroundings. Very comfortable and well appointed venue. Looking forward to celebrating my 90th. Birthday there! – May 2017;

We had a wonderful time at Kinghorn Town Hall. We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of this property. We kept opening doors and finding one more room. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting to visit the area. I would definitely come back to this rental. Thank you for a great time and your great hospitality. – Guest April 2017;

Will definitely book again on a return trip. This flat had everything we needed, was an easy train ride to Edinburgh and the village of Kinghorn is so charming and friendly. Also being so close to the beach meant amazing sunsets and exploring. Being in a historical property just put it over the top. – Guest March 2017;

My family and I had 3 wonderful days in Kinghorn. We were very pleased with the excellent service provided when checking in. The apartment exceeded all expectations with historical details and exclusive interior. We felt like a royal family while staying here:) The bedrooms are huge and we got to enjoy a lot of space as we travelled 4 adults, but would definitely recommend it to families as well. It was clean and had all equipment necessary. We were welcomed with bread from the local bakery and a bottle of wine, reflecting the high quality of service from Beth. We felt more welcome than we would ever do in a hotel. With the train station right around the corner we were able to go into Edinburgh for dinner and shopping (it only took about 40 mins). We also rented a car and went to St. Andrews for a day, which I would also recommend if you are a golf enthusiast. I would definitely come here again and would like to give my warmest recommendations to people considering renting this apartment. – Guest February 2017;

We really enjoyed staying at this property – it was really homely and also very well located, being both an easy distance to Edinburgh and the beautiful countryside and coast of Fife. We have two young children who were enchanted by the property, and it worked really well for a family. – Guest April 2019;

Nice stay in a character building – Long weekend stay with the family in a delightful building with plenty of charm and character. Great for exploring the Fife Region and with good links into Edinburgh where we spent a day. Will definitely return when weather is more summer like to see this fascinating part of Scotland. – Guest March 2019;

Quirky charm, clean and homely- Perfect stay over New Year with two families enjoying the huge space. Every need catered for, would definitely stay again. Thank you! – Guest December 2018;

Wonderful Home. This is our second time staying here, we love it. The house is minutes from the train station and the beach. It’s stocked with everything you will need. If we needed anything at all Beth or Rachel was just a call or text away.- Guest December 2018;

A real gem! A large apartment with lots of character! An amazing apartment in the historic Kinghorn town hall! I could tell when I booked it that it would be special, but it is even better in person!! Even with its massiveness, it is still homey and inviting. The apartment is charming and has lots of character! All my friends that I’ve shared photos with are in awe. We ate dinner at The Ship Restaurant twice (highly recommended) and we bought meat pies at the butcher down the street twice (also highly recommended) and ate in the dining room in the apartment. During our stay we took a great day trip to St. Andrews and visited the castle and cathedral ruins. We are lucky to have had nice sunny days for our stay, a bit chilly but we just bundled up. Thank you to Beth for arranging a cab for us and giving lots of recommendations. – Guest September 2018;

An amazing stay! We absolutely loved our stay at the Old Town Hall! It is a wonderful old building with a hidden spiral staircase, and so much room you could get lost in it. The location is perfect…close to the train and bus. It is an easy ride for a day trip to Edinburgh, Sterling, St Andrew’s, and Culross, and yet have the charm of being in the village of Kinghorn. We had a very good dinner at The Ship Restaurant across the street. I highly recommend a stay at this memorable property. – Guest September 2018;
