Since early 2023 we have been supporting St Monans Auld Kirk Enterprise as they work towards taking on St Monans Auld Kirk as a community asset.

Thanks to funding from the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF), St Monans Common Good Fund, Fife Rural Development Fund and Scottish Land Fund (SLF ), we have worked with the group to carry out community consultation, test the economic viability of their ideas, and develop a full business plan.

A detailed Condition Survey and Conservation Statment have informed conceptual Architectural designs to improve accessibility, increase energy efficicency and make the Auld Kirk a fully functioning community-run events space and cafe, with a bright, sustainable long- term future.

In December 2025, St Monans Auld Kirk Enterprise (SMAKE) completed the purchase process, and learned that an initial development phase application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) was successful. We look forward to continuing to support SMAKE in 2026 and beyond as their plans progress.
