Building up success in the Divit Dungeon.

The successes of Inverkeithing’s Heritage-led Regeneration project is already evident in the historic town, with a number of new business opening since the project began in 2019. Business development support has been available to existing and aspiring Inverkeithing businesses, by expert small business adviser, John Allan, of The Social Economy. A thriving High Street, with busy shops, a variety of places to eat and drink, and business useful to local people all contribute to a vibrant, sustainable community.
Inverkeithing local, Douglas Fraser, returned to his Fife home, after some years in the United States, and seized the offer of the free expert help available through the project. Douglas worked with John Allan to develop his business plans, find accommodation and clients, and develop sound business systems. Divit Dungeon has classes 6 days a week, and classes from 0600 to 2000. A variety of fitness disciplines and techniques are offered, and likewise, a wide range of ages , from toddlers to teens, are catered for, with ladies only classes too.
The historic heart of Inverkeithing witnessed strong armies passing through, not least to the Battle of Inverkeithing in 1651, now people in Inverkeithing can develop their own heroic strengths at the convenient, town centre gym.
Inverkeithing Heritage Regeneration scheme is delivered by Fife Historic Buildings Trust on behalf of Fife Council. Inverkeithing has a rich history and heritage, reflected in its large Conservation Area and many listed buildings. Fife Council is working with Fife Historic Buildings Trust and the local community to invest in Inverkeithing’s historic buildings and streets to support the town’s future. The five-year Inverkeithing Heritage Regeneration scheme, which runs until March 2024, will deliver a number of elements: priority building projects, a building repair grant scheme, public realm improvements to the Inverkeithing High Street area, and training and community engagement. The Inverkeithing Heritage Regeneration scheme is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic Environment Scotland and Fife Council.
