Whether you are staying at Kinghorn Town Hall or just passing through, Kinghorn is a beautiful small town in the Kingdom of Fife. There is lots of fascinating historical places to visit and a wonderful heritage as well as some wonderful places to dine.
- Kinghorn Harbour
This harbour is a must see whilst in Kinghorn, as it looks onto the Firth of Forth. The harbour is also located next to Kinghorn Beach, which has a café, making it a great tourist location for relaxation.
- The Ecology Centre
The Ecology Centre is a tourist attraction for all of the family. The main aim of the centre is to teach participants in the ecology and environment of Kinghorn. They have many events throughout the year, including holiday related events, such as ‘October Camp’. Whilst at the Ecology Centre, tourists can see many different birds in the Bird Hide. The Ecology Centre is a great spot for the family or tourists to learn more about the nature and environment of Fife.
- Kinghorn Loch
Located very close to The Ecology Centre, Kinghorn Loch is a great picnic location. Tourists are able to canoe or if they are feeling daring, swim in the loch. It is also a place where individuals can challenge themselves to walk around!
- Pettycur Beach
Pettycur Beach is located next to Sandhills Caravan Park, making it an ideal location for tourists to visit, due to the ease of access and quick walk it takes to get there. It is one of the beaches that are part of the Fife Coastal Path, also making it an adventure through other parts of Fife.
5. Kinghorn Heritage Trail
Kinghorn Historical Society has put together an incredible trail through Kinghorn, where you can learn about the history of the town. There is a free app you can download and follow along as you walk around the town. There are also information flyers with maps available in Kinghorn Town Hall and in some businesses throughout the town
6. Kinghorn Parish Church
The Kinghorn Parish Church is another site which is great to see. The building itself remains in good condition. The Kinghorn Parish Church also has magnificent views of the harbour. There is much history of the Kinghorn Parish Church, with part of it being built in the 12th century, and another part of it being built much later.
